Default R2D dig tranny skid plate?

So I sent my girlfriend down to CKRC today to pick up my new R2D dig tranny, servo, mount and so on. Well I called ahead twice to make sure that it would mount up to the stock chassis / skid and Jack said no problem.

Well I'm now looking at this wondering if I'm crazy or just stupid but it doesn't look to me like this will work without drilling new holes. Is this the case and is it really neccasary to have this regular size HS-645 hitec for it, he sent her home with one of these also, which I already have one of.

Any help with this would be great, I've searched through at least a hundred threads and found nothing on it.

Been to CKRC 7 or 8 times now and it never fails that when I get home which btw is an hour away they some how shorted me on something, or misinformed me............ Getting really frustrated!

My skid came with one side the holes were lined up but drilled crooked and the other was way off. Ended up making my own delrin one.

So i also noticed it needs to be pushed forward a bit, that being the case how much forward? Does it also have to be on one side or the other? Still a newb but not afraid of choppin sh#t up!

the 645 servo works awsome on a R2D (thats what i run in my SWX)

wont hurt to move it forward some (1/8 - 1/4 in.) weight forward is a good thing.

try Jakes performance hobbies next time...!

I'll definately do that, I am so fed up with ckrc but I wont bash on em' anymore, seems like they get alot of that here. I'm gonna try mounting it this morning, hope it works out. Thanks for the input and I'll post my progress later.

Check out the beefy delrin skid from R2J Kustoms. They are a new vendor on here and have skids drilled for the R2. Got mine with their new V2.2 tube chassis and it's Awesome.

To add and finish this thread I got an aluminum plate from a friend of mine and drilled and modified with some grinding and got it perfect, and on that note after everything was hooked up I must say that R2D dig tranny is the BOMB!!!! It works flawless and I am totally impressed with the unit. Thanks RC4WD, you make a great product.
