| RC4WD shocks
Has anyone had any experience with any of the RC4WD shocks? They look like a solid shock with ball ends on both sides. I think I'm going to try them out.

I bought a blue set, and then won a black set here on RCC recently. I haven't driven them yet, but I love the looks, and they seem to be well made. Very fast shipment as well.

I have a set of dual spring and white scale shocks, I really like the looks of both. When I got my dual springs they were very stiff. I removedone oring from the seal and only run a drop of shock oil to hrlf lube the seal and shaft. I also changed one spring on each shock to Losi Mini-T springs, works perfectly now. My scale whites were also too stiff. I just cleaned them, put in a drop of shock oil and run Hilift internal springs. But if I'm not mistaken the shocks now come with softer springs. |

The black 90mm scale shocks I got from RC4WD were a little on the stiff side as well. I'm running 20 wt. oil now and they are still a bit much. I'm running boots as well, but I really don't think they add all that much resistance to the shock. The truck still has a little weight to gain (servo and mount, main and winch LiPos) but I'm thinking I'm either going to have to source some lighter springs or remove a little material from the stock springs to lighten their rate a little. Good looking units anyway. Hopefully they respond to some tuning... |
