Hi,

I have metal gears in stock for the PTI Goliath axles for 18.95 a set (1 ring and 1 pinion)
I also have a limited supply of the Associated spools I can include with a gear purchase for 15.00 ea.

The pinion is stainless steel and the ring gear is hardened copper alloy that has been plated.

20.00 a set shipped USPS first class. Add 2.70 to the total for USPS Priority shipping.

Thanks

I'm lagging on these until the "Plan B" Bergbuild is rolling, but looking fwd to NO more stripped gears! Poor PTI been sitting over a YR.
Be hitting you up soon MikeP! Nice price to end the constant teardown/rebuild(s).

I'll be wanting sets of these as soon as I can scrape up the scratch.
I spent a ton of $$$$$ on my scaler and grandson's pede so I'm broke rite now lol

Are you going to have these rite along now or are they just going to be a get them while you can type of thing?

Good things come to those who wait...

I have purchased these gears and received them a few days ago. I must comment on how they provided me with renewed confidence in my PTI when having them in hand for the first time. Now to find time to breath new life into my PTI.

Thanks again for these gears :)

Got mine a couple days ago. So Shiny! Thanks Mike!

What is the Ratio for that Ring and Pinion?? Are the gears sold as stand alone or do you have to purchase the Axle Housing too??

K_B 05-09-2009 12:49 AM

Gears are sold as a set with 1 ring gear and 1 pinion gear; no axle housing includes. Doing a rough count of the teeth from the photo the ratio is 2.6:1.

I counted 16 pinion and 40 spur. That's 2.5:1 right?

Goobs that's quite the engineering project you got going there be sure to let us know how it turns out, looks good so far.

thanks i used 1/8" x 2" aluminum stock and cut and drilled as neccessary. i have a friend who has a cnc router that im going to get him to make 2 identical plates so everything is exactly symetrical. once i get him to do that then im gonna make......something with them, idk yet.

Installed mine today, got them shimmed, and gave it a test run with a HH 45t hand wound, 15oz weighted chisels, on 3s lipo.

Managed to spin a hex in the wheel

These just made my day. I have now officially retired last years comp rig.

I don't think that statement has ever been said in the PTI threads.

rocresq 05-27-2009 05:48 PM

I am stoked, thanks for the continued work to make this a reality Mike. I can now get rid of the TLT's Ive been holding onto to build a 1:9 comp..... pti here I come!

hairba11 05-29-2009 12:06 AM

oh, and as an update...

I put the 7t cobalt puller in the poulson rig after jbwelding the hex on the wheel, and snapped off the front output on the axial transmission.

the metal gears are holding up great!!

motorman1600 05-29-2009 02:31 PM

I have many test hours on mine and they are great, I have broken two stub axles and one CVD. Better let the slipper work a little more."thumbsup"

what is that part called that goes from the pinion to the drive shaft thanks and is that included in ur sale

Mike Poulson 06-07-2009 05:19 PM

That part is called the input shaft, the one in the picture I posted is from an Associated car. You will use the stock input with the gears. One is not included, just the gears.
