Default Hot Racing MOA's Binding up..

Just like the title says, i build a comp rig around these axles and honestly it works like a champ. Minus the fact that i can hold onto the front tires and the truck can sit horizontal (completely flat in the air) like that for a second before it breaks loose and falls vertical. I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem and how they resolved it before i go out of my way to contact a company that doesn't has much support as well as parts. And if we could keep the "should have just built a berg" comments to a minimum that would be awesome. I did tear the axles apart to look for dirt and stuff that could be causing the problem. Nothing was in there. All i could figure is that the gears on the inside are binding somehow. Thanks for any ideas.

If the gears were binding, then your truck would do exactly as you wish.

To me, this type of action is to be expected. The truck moving is directly related to the motor that you have installed and the type of magnets used in it's construction. Every motor will always be able to be turned by hand, some just take more torque to turn than others...

Pull the axle apart again and make sure the inner shafts aren't bent.

Those stainless shafts bend really, really easy from what I've read.

Agreed, most of us running the HR MOA axles have switched to and modified some Berg axle shafts to fit in there. HR axle shafts = WEAK!

Yeah its for sure not the motor problem. It does just about the same thing with the motors completely off the axle. But come to think of it when i pulled the axles out of the locker the flat part was a little tweeked on the very ends that goes into the locker. I guess if those werent completely flat that that could be the problem then?? The shafts are completely straight i put them in drill and didn't see any bends in them. So the only thing i notices was that tweek on the very ends.

Maybe you have a bad bearing somewhere?

Im pretty sure that i twisted the very end of the inner axle that goes into the locker. That would make the locker wobble a little bit and put everything on a bind wouldn't it?? Any Idea on where to get berg inner axles?

So i swapped the inner axles with berg inners, it helped with the binding on the rear axle and helped a little on the front but it still clicks a little in the front when going forward. i guess im just reaching out to see if any one else has another idea on making them run smoother and stop the dang grinding and clicking. thanks in advance.

make sure your screws from your link and shock mount aren't to long and hitting the inner axle
