Default check out my new Jeep body , solar powered ....

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/general-crawlers/

if you look at this thread you will see the old body , so a friend of mine donated a body and this is what Ive done with it.

the lighting system is solar powered , I took one of these solar powered keyring torches on Ebay and built it into the body , notice the solar panel on the roof.

Default I Like it

Wow I never even came close to thinking about something like that for a rc. That was a cool idea, and a great looking jeep body to go with it.

Very nice try! That is what I call innovation. Call me an idiot but how useful would the solar lights be if you only need them at night???

the solar panel charges a small lithium ion battery which powers the lights.
6 hours sunlight give 2 hours of light.

Lets see some specs and close up pics of your axles... Its cool seeing a build like this... its like the old days of crawlin... make stuff instead of click "buy" for your parts.

Default cool lights

The lights are very cool, did you basiclly just tear apart the light and use all that stuff ,or did you wire in differant battey? If you did change it up could you please explain and maybe pick , I would love to try it. I was going to tear up my outdoor path lights , the wife didn't like the idea, so I'm looking for some new ones she likes then I get old ones.

Default body I used is from a EZTEC toy rc

The body I used is from a EZTEC toy rc , it is a few years old , I also added some of my own stuff , like closing up the wheel arches , adding the rear bars , front protection , etc ... , check out this link:

ebay keyring light:

unsolder the led's and press switch , mount the leds , solder wires back to the unit( make sure you connect same contact to same on unit) , solder a on/off switch and mount it - done.

Default Buju thanks

thanks for the info, I think even I could do that. You did the hard work ,coming up with the idea.
I can see alot of poeple doing this, one less batteyr you need to check before you go crawling , or if you happen to be playing when it gets dark, you got light.
I think I might try to make a removable set, like K.C. roof rack lights or something I can throw on if needed.

thanks again

Brainfart here! I should have at least thought about the battery part. As far as the switch goes, where do you solder it to? Electronics noob here.
