Default Servo/Battery Plate Recommendations

I am going lipo with my axial crawler and need a place to put my lipo battery and steering servo. I would like recommendations on servo/battery plates that will help keep the crawlers COG low and allow a decent size lipo battery to be used with the crawler. Thanks in advance for anyone who responds to this thread

This is probably what you are most likely looking for:

Also, this is what I am using for my battery/servo plate at the moment:

Get the BTA (Behind the Axle Steering)from JETBOAT in the Vendors Section.

-It gives you Behind the Axle Steering.
-It gives you a 4-Link suspension.
-It gives you a battery mounting plate on the front axle.
-It is well-made.
-Fair Price.

i used the axial plate and i ran that for a while and then eneded up going to an 8 cell saddle pack mounted to the axle but yes the plate is great for a lipo pack if you get the right size

these are the geeral dimensions i am using to choose batteries: 86 x 35 x 21. what do others think of these dimensions for batteries? this is using a full size steering servo.

I have found that with most plates that the battery usually fits best when in the 68mm to 72mm length. On my Axial the battery that I ran was 70mm, and it barely cleared the wheel at a tight turn. On my Bully axle, I have a 72mm long battery on my rear axle, and it has about 2mm to spare.

just make sure if you run a lipo to tie back the balancing lead.

i didn't and it got caught and grounded otu on the aluminum knuckle and started a small wire fire.

i can still use the lipo but i just can't balance it.

what battery did you run and do you have a hyperlink to the battery? what plate did you use and how did you attach your battery to the rear axle?

On the AXIAL I built my own front axle servo/4 link/battery tray out of lexan. (Delrin also would have worked & this would also would work on the rear axle, but in the Axial front mounting is preferred). I used this battery (2 cell lipo):

If you were to need 3 Cels, this pack would also fit the bill as it is the same pack as the 2 cell...just thicker. (1 more cell).

On my current Bully Build where the battery is on the rear axle, I started using this battery:

http://www.ecpower.com.hk/index.php?...roducts_id=189

But now I need a bit more power/amps, so I have switched to this pack:

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6423

All 3 of these 3 cell packs are close in size...odds are that all 3 of them would fit an axial front axle. But I am certian that the eFlight batteries will fit. The ECPOWER is also very tiny....the Hobby City pack is a tad larger.

I hope that this is what you were looking for.

I've been using the good old STRC servo plate on my comp rig and the sportsman rig. For the price, it's a good deal. I countersunk the holes for the link mounts and that simple mod gave me a bit more room to squeeze in a 3s LiPo.
