Default r2

I recently bought a used r2 transmission but have a few questions. I emailed rc4wd but cant seem to get a response. I'm looking for a pinion gear. I know i need 8 tooth 32pitch gear but i dont know if i need a long one ore a regular length. Any help is appreciated.

What are you putting it in? It comes w/ an 8 tooth. . . if you don't want to go over 1mph. . .

Any standard 32 pitch pinion will work fine, you do not need anything special.

not to stray off the topic here but are you guys sure you have the same RC4WD we all have ?

these guys have been above and beyond in my book, and have treated everyone i talk to fair. sometimes things get overlooked and mistakes can happen, so i am not saying that your case isnt true.
try getting ahold of them again...
more often than not they are willing to settle up and then some.
then you will feel like doo doo for posting that they suck
hell i even get emails on sunday nights

Don't go with an 8t pinion. Think 12-18t.

I'm running a 16T gear. The only issue I had was that the opening in the back of the tranny where the motor attatches to the tranny won't allow for the 16T gear to fit inside, so I had to remove the lexan cover on the front side, drop the pinion gear into the tranny and attatch it to the motor shaft, then bolt on the motor. It isn't too hard, but it is a slight PIA.

I woudnn't use a 7T puller motor, the tranny won't last very long. Mine was screaming when I used a 500 Cobalt motor, so I had to switch to a 35T handwound motor.

Want to hear a 7T in an R2HD?

Video track starts at 40 secs. in

I swear the gear mesh is good !

Ive ran this since early winter with no troubles.

Its just so noisy ! When you are on protected land you should try be quiet

I had the same problem. I just used the dremel to clearance the opening a little to fit the pinion. Just had to take a hair off.
