Default exceed rc crawler

anyone have any info, was going to buy a cliff climber as a beater/beer drinking truck but came across this?

http://www.nitrorcx.com/1sc4wdexrcma.html

I know chinese quality isnt all there but I have yet to find any info on it yet. It doesnt fall into any comp rules either so would need to be modified to do so.

Seen these on ebay, they dont look badly built, but everything is probably cheap quality. Looks like it shares some parts with the ax10.. You get what you pay for.

EDIT: Just seen you were thinking of a CC, i personally owned one and i would take the exceed over the CC anyday, i couldnt believe how much of a pile the CC was, and this one definitely looks better that the CC to me.

Those knuckles look like AX-10 ones, maybe could be replaced with aluminum?

I can't speak for the crawler but I do have an Exceed RC helicopter and I was surprised at how well it was made - especially for the money.

YMMV

The knuckles look like AX-10's. as well as:

axle shafts
out put shafts
hex's
servo plate

The chassis reminds me of a MRC one

The tires/wheels look like the Duracrap CC

motor looks like whats in a WK

When the cash flow comes in, I will end up getting one just for kicks and giggles and come back with a review. Probably a month.

Looks like, since the axles are wide, you can buy 2 sets of the cases and shafts and run both of the short sides on 1 axle.

I like how they market the fact that they are keeping the center of gravity low on the rig by having the motors low.....but the chassis sits up so damn high...with a stick pack in the chassis

Both side axle tubes are the same...it's the gearbox that's offset. Plus...if you did shorten down the other side...it'd be much more difficult for the motor can to clear the lower link..

might be ok for a beer truck until I strip a gear, if i could find metal gears it might be worth it, but the thing is huge. Would have been a little better if they made it a little smaller. the wheel size looks to be 2.2 so 40 series on it might make it look a little less,,,,, well less of a truck?

the thing with the cc is it looks like it would make a nice trail rig, not so much a scaler but cheap none the less.

Not very impressive considering that 90% of that video shows it running full throttle on DIRT. :?
