| What is your Crawler Stand? What do you use?
maybe we can give each other some ideas here. I've seen the little jackstands, and I made one out of PVC pipe. It keeps the wheels off the ground and is nice to work on. It used to be for my T-maxx, but a little configuring of the pieces and it makes a good crawler stand. It fits in my carry bag so the wheels are still not getting flat spots and allows for more room in the bottom of the bag...and it's cheap to make. What do you use? |

I have mostly used old tires... A Clod or similar tire has about the right width for my rig... But I think im going to steal your idea... |

I use a set of these sweet rig stands that I got from Fubar Crawlers. Fubar Crawlers' Rig Stands but for wrenching I mustly just prop it up on the tires. |

I really wanted something that I could use when I carry my truck on the passenger seat of my Harley. I use a very large gym bag and then just bungy it down...holds it all and then some! | |

I use the FUBAR stands as well. They are a great investment. On the plus side the look really cool! |

my work stands are kinda expensive... i use snap-on 3/4" drive truck lugnut sockets, one under each motor. my crawler is sitting on like $100 in two sockets, lol!

ha ha i have ya all beat ....i use empty plastic butter dishes for my stands, the center stand has some rubber shelf covering glued on it for non-slip grip.... cheap "free" the right size, light to pack in my tool box....plus used in different a configuration from the 3 i have.... used for storage.... used to work on my rig this way for the chassis part.... or if i need to work on an axle i use the center stand and one axle stand.... when i'm on the road at a GTG they stack nicely inside each other for transport.... i know i know you can't beleive i used butter dishes ....oh yeah before anyone goes and uses my idea, i have a patent pending on them in the process ...........bob .... |

Sorry for the silly question but is it really necessary to park crawlers (or any R/C for that matter) on stands? I assume that you do this to avoid making flat spots on the rubber wheels, correct? |

| I do it to keep from getting flat spots on the tires, but it can also make them eaiser to work on if you have them propped up on something.

I use a 'Little Jack' adjustable lab jack stand with a piece of a mouse pad glued on the top and a 3" Lazy Suzan attached to the bottom. Makes for a versatile tool. Carl |
