| Rear Axle Will Not Shift Into Gear
Has anyone else had the rear axle stop enganing into gear? I was doing very hardcore bashing...lol...and put it into high to backup and then put it into low and the front engaged but thats all i got...all it would do was a front burn. The rear axle was in neutral. |

it coul be that the gear selcetor is messed up, had that happen a few times, or it could be a broken pin or carrier. just tear into the rear axle and see. Stu |

After having a bad experience with high gear, i cut off the high/low selecting lever on the controller and took out the piece in the rear axle that selects high or low gear. Also, the axle pins seem to be very weak. I also had one break. Sounds to me thats what it is.

i think it is something other than anything that has been metioned. I put it on the stands and all of the wheels turn but if u lay a finger on a back wheel it stops and u can spin both wheels the other way.

well you will need to take off the side of the axle that is longer it may be hard to remove. once you get it off you will see the end of the gearbox that is blue. the pin goes staight threw that. it may apper to be intact but you will need to press it out to examine it if the plastice peice is broken then you will need to email customer service

This is EXACTLY what just happened to mine. It was the pin in the blue plastic piece. Got Rocks told me after i asked him about it that he fixed his by pressing out the broken one and replacing it with a drill bit that was cut to size by a rotor. The way mine broke, it was impossible to push out the broken piece. I e-mailed customer support and now i gots me a new chasis on the way |

Sounds kind of like what happend to mine, if the rear tires were in the air it would spin fine but any pressure they would stop. The pulley on the axle end broke free from where it mounts to the axle.

Alright I took my rear axle apart and saw no blue peice and the belt was looking good still and everything looked good but now i can get the rear axle to engage into anygear at all hi or low. High doesnt even start to engage and low just clicks a heck of a lot.

You have to take off the ends of the axle to get to the blue piece. It's on the opposite side of the axle as the belt drive. It will be hard to pull off the black end piece (with the bearing on it) but once you get it off, you'll see what we're talking about and you can then get to the pin. I'm not sure of the bit size, you'd have to ask Got Rocks? and as for the new chasis, the way mine broke, there was no way i could get the pin out to even replace it. Also there were some steering issues aside from that. I just e-mailed customer service and they said theyd send me an upgraded chasis. |

just find a drill bit that fits in the hole thats all i did and the reason for using a drill bit is for its hardend steel so it will probably never break again
