it's kinda hard when we dont know what exact body it is or anything about length or wb. also what axials are you running?

LS1Armyboy 06-25-2009 11:34 AM

sorry, it says jeep yj in the title. i will be using a axial trans with axial drive shafts and axial axles. basically im gonna strip down an axial ax10 and use those parts to build on the chassis

Jeep YJ is the Tamiya body, either off of the CC01 or the CR01.

A good frame would probably be an X-Trail, or SCX-10, or if you wanted to you could just make your own frame.

i thought sometime ago someone posted a frame from some site that had a frame that was made specifically for the jeep yj. i just cant rememeber for the life of me what it was. the scx10 is too long so i figured the attachment points for the shocks would not line up with the wheel wells. i have no seen the x-trail (im a n00b) and i am not too great with fab work yet (once again im a n00b :P

thats what i was afraid of, the jeep yj wheel base is like 9.5 so that is way too big by like a 1.5 inches. thanks for the help tho

i was kinda thinking about this, and just trimming it to make it fit.

The scale shop makes or at least made some specifically for it, look for stangkillaSS on here, he runs it.

you can make a YJ body fit a scx10, that's what I plan on doing. I've seen it done. I think you have to shorten the rear of the chassis. Check the 1.9 & 2.2 scale threads, think that's where I saw it. Also try rcjeeps.com.
