It might sound dumb... But since almost all of has a VMG stuck away somewhehere, or even a finished one. Why not Give them there own place in the brand specific section? VMG's are like training wheels for beginers. And still fun to build.

It stands for Venom Mini Giant. A-Tech, Bison, and other knock off versions are out there too.I think there are a few other names it goes by. Here are a few of mine...... [IMG]http://i647 |

I forgot to add that they 1/18 scale. Not to far off from the Losi MRC, quality is not as good. But they are fun to build. IMHO they are thr original couch crawler. Been around for a long time. |

Had one myself a loooong time ago. I regret selling it, that's for sure. Watching this video makes me wanna build an MRC scaler VMGs are not very popular anymore since they're discontinued and parts are harder to come by. Mine had a bunch of nice parts including the hard-to-find upgraded axles so you could use 12mm hubs. With the MRC, you've pretty much got a VMG but with better clearance under the axles, locked diffs, better tires, etc. etc. etc. |

I agree the MRC is definately better quality. VMG's were just my first step into RC Crawling.

Here is a pic of my recently finished VMG build along with one of my Losi Mini Crawlers. Notice how much smaller the VMG is. Here is the build thread: Mini Giant Bronko Crawler |

The VMG is actually 1/20 scale, I built a monster truck out of one, it had 4 wheel steering, tlt wheels and tires and a gear reduction unit. It was a ton of fun but I had trouble keeping diff gears in it |

Mine had the short lived run of Aluminum knuckles and I managed to grab a couple sets of the SS axles, Last time I had it out I was building a new chassis ... now it sits in a bin in the crawlspace. I have a Creeper on it's way so that has started me to planning a resurrection so I can RC with my daughter. with all the parts I collected trying to find the right combo's for 12mm wheels and differents shock types, chassis layouts, and gear reductions ... I have almost three full trucks (and loads of spare diff and tranny gears). should be fun. Been out of the loop for a long time, I guess one18th died?

No, 1/18th did not die, the VMG just did not take off. Here are a few shots of the life of mine. The Mog is how it sits now.

Nice! I'll dig through my Comp and try and find some older pics of mine ... and I'll throw up the new ones .... I was inspired and threw it all back together with all my mod parts (chassis, links, mounts, etc ...). I felt inspired, after all it was such a fun little toy. It sure looks dated now, but back when, the modded VMG was the Mini king. as for 1/18th being dead ... I was meaning one18th.com |

found some ... my VMG back in 2005 ... don't mind the road tires they were the only 2.2's I had back then - leftovers from my old ultima truck. and then just a few hours ago after putting it all back together. once I get this old goat running again my daugther can crawl with me and my creeper. it's still waiting on a new esc/rx (losi mini-T) and then I have to make a new battery for it.
