The Berg and Axial are two of the best crawlers you can get IMO. Once all the bugs are worked out the Losi will be in that category as well. No matter what you buy you are going to break things. I run an axial based rig that is more than capable of beating the Bergs, But I do get beat by bergs a lot too. Neither of them are low budget crawlers once you start modding everything. |

to start... dont get the berg kit... if you got 1k-2k to spend there are a million options u can go with. all depends on what kind of driving u want to do. click on the links at the bottom of my post and u will see an axial rig and a berg rig. both comp worthy |

| Try This
The berg would be a good choice. I run a AX10 ARTR and I've been happy with it the whole time I've had it. Do remember the berg runs on two motors, so you do get more power. It seems like I'm slowly talking myself into buying a berg.:?

Building a Berg is a bit of work, you have to collect parts from lots of different places, and many of them will have to be modified, but it's worth it IMO.

| I've been telling people in our club this forever. Alot of the new guys wanna buy all the new parts coming out and then every time we go out crawling they are practically driving a new rig...stick with the same rig for a while and you'll learn what it can do. King of the rocks? Depends on the driver. |

That would be cool to test drive one, but the Visa card would have to be dusted off. For some reason I'm not thirsty anymore for the Cool-Aid. I'll just work with what I have for now. Key words " For Now ".

You are asking a question that can not be answered, there is no truck that is the king of the rocks. Honestly I wouldnt buy a kit to begin with, The axles will be the only think you use and the the internals are replaced on those. A full on comp rig doesnt use many stock parts. If you plan on being a serious competitor You need to decide what you want, drive shafrs or MOA (motor on axle) and search the after market for the parts you want and build it one peice at a time. There are a 1000 builds on here you can learn from or out right copy so do some research and you will find a truck you like and the truck that inspires you. I also feel compelled to state that unless you plan to compete a well rounded capable good looking rig can be had for well under a $1000, Mine will do about 90% of the things a comp rig will do and i have $500 in it. I cant believe that the 10% of the they can do that I cant makes their trucks more fun than mine. Its about the fun not the money. Good luck P.S. Go with the Axial (personal prefrence) |

While the berg seems to be pretty hot. Keep in mind that need for two motors, which can effect battery life.

If you are really interested.. PM me... I'll build you a RTR Comp Rig that will hang with them all. I'm finishing up one for another customer right now and will have an opening for one more.
