| R/C KOH rigs?
Hey all, so my background is from full scale desert racing. Bought an rc crawler on sort of a whim. Now Im hooked. But I got to thinking how cool would it be to have a rc koh style truck/course setup? KOH=king of the hammers=rock crawling and desert racing mixed into one awesome course. Has this been done and I completly missed it? Search here and on google isnt coming up with anything? :-P |

lol figured. 99% of the time I have these great ideas i find out later theyve already been done. Where was that exactly? My course setup would be a little different, I dont know about all that running around on foot, would like some actual double style jumps, etc. Still really cool though. Are there links to builds of those kinds of cars on here? Dedicated sites, etc? Thanks! |

it was in apple valley. there's a thread on here with a map of the location. I think Del Monte has a build thread, might be some others too.

| Thats Cool
I watch KOH race every year, and this is a great looking scale down version of it. Great place to do some serious rock racing. |

KOTC (King of the Compound) didn't have any gates to go through, and no rules about reverses. We each had our own judge run w/ us, and they had a scorecard (a 3x9 index card w/ our name on it), and each time the judge had to touch the rig to roll it over (driver wasn't allowed to touch it) you got a tally mark which added 30 seconds to your overall time. There were designated pit stops which were the only place drivers could touch the rig (like to change the battery). It was a mile long course that we ran two laps on, and the best time won. I'm probably missing a couple of the rules (it's been way too long, probably means it's time for another one ). Go to Socalrcrc.org and search for KOTC or King of the Compound, you should find all of our pics, vids and the threads about it explaining the rules. It was a freaking blast. Totally exhausting, but a blast, I loved it. and Jake does have a build thread on here somewhere, his rock racer is a hell of a lot of fun to drive. |

haha, yeah, no joke. Jake had his camelback on which was a good idea, and I was handed a nice cold Miller High Life when I was finished... so it wasn't too shabby, haha.
