Default Winning rock crawlers

I would need your help in finding who win the major 2.2 competitions in the last years with pictures and infos on their rock crawlers. In fact while the market is offering new products everyday I would like to understand which of them can really improve the performance of a crawler and only competitions have the final word on this.
Here where I live we do have few competitions or nothing at all. The only one I could hear about was held last weekend and surprisingly it was won by the new Losi 1/10 2.2 rock crawler. Is it happening the same in the US ? Are worm gear axles the future of this discipline ? Do we have to abandon our TLT, Ax-10 and Creeper for Losi and Kyosho ?
Once the king was Bender with his TLT and SW3 chassis but is was a long time ago...perhaps 2006, Ax-10 and all the other out of the box crawlers were not born yet.

Thank you

Filippo

Just last year, Brandon won the Nor-Cal series, one of the largest series in the country on a TLT without dig. Talk about a killer driver. From what I can tell Berg axles are the new in thing. Though some cops are being won by the Losi. Look thru the competition forum for more info.
