Default Motor Orientation

Ok, So I picked up a crawler last night from a guy. I dont know the specs off the top of my head, but, I'm having an issue with the throttle response, as in, it feels like there's more power in reverse, I have the TQ remote and a Traxxas 5XL reciever/ESC?! I tried flipping it between the 70/30 and 50/50 on the controller, i got it working ok, but it wants to jump out of it's skin in reverse when i jam the throttle, then going back to forward takes a little blipping of the trigger sometimes, it has a hesitation.... I'm wonder, call me crazy, if the motor and tranny are flipped 180* of where they're supposed to be, the gears are pointed to the front of the rig, and from what i can see in some pics is that they're point the other way....towards the back.... am i not seeing this right?!

Or are there other issues at hand? If you need more info let me know, i'll try and answer to the best of my knowledge.

It's kind of a piece-meal thing, axial axles, Traxxas ESC, traxxas reciever, not sure on the motor...can't remember.

I'll try that tonight, because ya, it'll lift the one rear tire off the ground 2"-3" it goes so hard in reverse! Then giggle the trigger for forward again, then jam it reverse and it lifts tire...if i switch the wires, what else do i do, cus wont it then be backwards on my controller? (sorry noob at wiring)

You might have the motor timed in reverse to much

How does one time a motor?!

It seems to hesitate when i try to go forward, hitting the trigger. It's def. more responsive in reverse.

To answer the above post:
When I pull the trigger it goes the right direction.

Yes, it will. You will need to reverse the throttle on your Tx...

Yeah i think it's funny to answer peoples questions, then once they click on it, they are actually searching (what they should have done in the first place).

Is there a dig in the unit? Sounds like maybe when tghe person put it in they reversed the radio instead of the wires on the motor to get it to go in the right direction.

What kind of motor is it? The stock 27t axial motor I had when I got my rig always seemed to have more pep in reverse (I always thought I had wired it wrong.)

The dig wouldnt affect the motor haveing more pep in reverse.

I dont know if the 27t axial motor can be timed, but if it can then make it an advanced timing and that should even things out.

I understand the dig wouldn't affect it's peppiness but if the tranny was flipped around and the transmitter was flipped instead of the motor wires when he pulls the trigger the truck goes forward but the motor is working in reverse. Shouldn't affect the peppiness either, I'm just making note that some motors do have a little zip in one direction.
