| which tube chassis????
i need some input for my new tube chassis for my axial ax10. i am torn between the RC4WD timber wolf and the HBZ warthog i like the warthog because it looks more like a comp rig, but i like the tiber wolf look as well, looks more like a real tuber jeep, that you could see in a 1.1 comp. help me EDIT: see post #5 for my intentions for this rig Last edited by LS1Armyboy; 07-30-2009 at 03:17 PM. |

If you are going to comps I would go for the warthog. If you are scale comping or bashing then Timberwolf. Timberwolf looks way cool!!!

It depends on what you want to do. Timberwolf=scale, warthog=comp. And i agree with jetboat, the bastard jr would have my vote if i were going to build a comp crawler. |

for the most part this will just be a fun truck, maybe down the road ill do a comp or two, but thats not the main focus. i do have a trail finder jeep edition from RC4WD that will be my dedicated scaler project. so since i will get that out of my system, i want this AX10 to be a bad bad bad truck that can handle the most i could possibly throw at an AX10 based crawler. i should have said that in the first post, but i forgot. so with that in mind, would the timberwolf really be as rock worthy as the warthog?

go with a TVP chassis like the gc2 or such if you want it to be "bad bad bad". I know they say that tubers can be as good as bodied rigs but, in my experience with tubers, they ALWAYS grab the rocks. You end up with windows etc that are like an invitation for the rock to reach in and grab ahold of. That's part of why you dont see more comp guys running them. Another advantage is that once the body is torn to heck, throw on another. Both of your choices are good however, Warthog will be more capable than the timberwolf as the timberwolf was designed with scale in mind over comp. |
