Default Enroute Berg

Just one question, why do so many people hate these things? it seems that this rig has more detractors than any other.

Who hates them? The most popular 2.2 in the comp scene right now as far as I can tell.

Must be the people hating them don't have one.

Are you talking about the entire rig or just axles? Guys love the axles but the rest leaves a lot to be desired.

People don't like them because they are unfair against old technology

They are not even more expensive than a comp ready axial. By the time you buy a dig, and drive shafts, and chassis, and links, and everything else, the berg is cheaper.

Well, maybe not cheaper but not any more expensive. It's just the buy in that scares people but there are a ton of axials out there with more money in them than a nice berg. And a nice (not totally built) berg will give any high dollar shafty more than they want.

Yup pretty much, an axial you can get rolling for fairly cheap and then upgraded over time, a berg is more money to get going. Think of it this way an rtc is around $260 a berg roller kit is $300 a 2 channel radio is $50, 2 integy motors $40, sidewinder esc is $75, a 645 servo is $30, misc things to make it work $30, oh and hb tires $30. Add atleast $80 for a cheap nimh charger and split pack battery. The axial to get rolling in a basic setup is $340, a berg basic is $635 almost twice as much. Neither has a dig.

note: this is the basic setup to get both working not full comp rigs.

Actually I have another reason for hating MOA style rigs. Back i the late 80s' (87 I think?) I wanted a monster truck badly so a friend of my mother got me a an OG clod with the red bumpers if I recall correct. Electronics were a joke back then, to cut it short the rotary speed control literally blew in my face while changing a battery, burning my hands quite badly and slightly scorching my face. I have since related all MOA to that shitty clod and always steer clear of them. Shitty reason huh?

To help the vendetta though, since the era of Adam was the one with the shaft, Eve had the other style....
