RCR's indoor Crawling Wall

Phase one complete

Ok , I haven't been doing build threads on any of my rigs , but I thought I would do one on this , just because its going to be so damm cool.
Damon over at Radio Control Roadrunner Hobbies ask me to spearhead a crawler wall iin their new store. I'm always up for a challenge so I said I'd do it. I tested this theory at the house and I think its going to be sweet. We bought "Cull " lumber from Home Depot for about $.50 a board , they work great for this, and used drops from the remodel of the store.
I wanted to incorporate all of the obstacles we encounter out in the field. ie... cracks, ledges, under-cuts, drop offs , side hills, transitions, hot-tubs and wicked steep climbs. then we also added a few tunnels and a sweet teeter-totter ???sp We have about 25 hours of time into it so far. All of the skeleton frame is complete , the next step is to lay the chicken wire , cover it with bed sheets ( from the salvation army @ $1 each ) and put the mortar/cement mix on the top of it. If your wondering about the weight of the cement on the structure , DONT , we climbed all over this thing making sure its sturdy enough. We have plans for several rope bridges , cable climbs and even a wire slide back to bottom from the rafters of the building.
It covers about 65 feet of wall 6 feet wide. it goes from floor level to about 8 feet high. It takes a bit of imagination right now , but just try to picture it covered up.
On to the pics.

Someone came in and was looking around and said " whats with the Bug " I said " Its and arch you dumbass " then Banana Man crawled in and was settin in it like a car. He's actually setting in one of the hot-tubs under the moab style arch.

This is goin to be simmilar to the " Escalator " in Moab, from the top we will make a bridge into the rafters of the building.

holy mother of indoor crawling!!! "thumbsup" cant wait to see the final product. And great idea for the "escalader" and bridge over the rafters, that is going to be sick! That would definitely suck to fall of that bridge, lol

Just wait until you see the cable slide that will bring you down from the rafters"thumbsup" Looking great guys and sorry I haven't been much help.

This looks COOL! Can't wait to see the end product. I wonder if you guys have given any thought to some other methods of "rock-making" namely using expanding foam. It might be nice to have a few sections you could change up from time to time.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys , it was a good bit of work , there is a bunch of work to do yet. Its going to be VERY cool. And we are VERY fortunate to have a LHS like this one , I dont think there are many others like it
For those of you thinking it may get static or boring , there are alot of less than 30deg slopes in it that we are going to put some free rock on to keep it interesting , this thing wont get boring for a long time.
Just remember , its all about gate placement "thumbsup"
I had a great weekend camping and fishing ( I caught a 10 lb Blue Catfish ) and am ready to get busy on this in the evenings this week.
