I'm planning on building more of testing course than a practice course and I appreciate looking at what others have done. My challenge is it has to work with the wives landscaping.

I landscaped my front yard with crawling in mind. a dump truck of round river rock, a dump truck of jagged rock plus several large rocks grabbed while up in the mountains and thrown in the back of my truck. It works well for scale crawling, but actually draws compliments from the neighbors.

Here are some video clips from the front yard action (yeah, I know i need to mow the lawn, but crawling is more fun)

Here's a video of the backyard from back in May 2009.

About a month ago it was raining pretty good...

Then in the last 2-3 days the boy and I were out moving a few rocks and adding a couple of borders to "clean up" the area. In the next couple months I play to add a lot more rocks and a bridge feature.

It's not much but I can drive on it anytime I want.

I would recommend starting early! Get out there before everything grows up during the spring. At least clear out a path and pull dormant weeds, vines, and roots out of the way. Even clear cutting brush is easier without all the leaves. That is what I am doing.

This was mine last spring.

I brought home an excavator and added some big stone to it, making some tough climbs. I'll have to take some updated pics of it. Come to think of it, I need to bring home the machine and change it up a little.
