IIRC, the Traxxas GTR shocks are 3.5" and they very well on my Axial w/DNA CFX chassis...

HPI A723

Emulsion shock, ball end in the cap, and mine don't leak at all.

You can see part of the shock in this pic.

The GTR's are an amazing shock. I run them on my scaler and my comp rig. They come with different pistons so oil will be whatever works for you. If you get a set off a summit from ebay the pistons have a tiny hole you can drill out to what you need.

They come with 30wt oil....and that's what I used. I did, however, use the pistons with the most holes in them....and I drilled out the holes.

IIRC, mine came with an extra set of pistons that had three holes. I drilled them out as large as I could...

Traxxas longs are 3.5" They work really well, have a ti nitride shaft, hard ando'ed body and parts are easy to come by.

Yep, I run those on my comp rig. They are great with the RC18T buggy springs!

They have a nice narrow shock body and when you use these springs, you can get full steering throw without the tires eating into the springs.

ha ha. yea, i ask a lot of questions. I will give 2mm a try or 3mm. How big would defeat the purpose of drilling though?
