| Pro's/Con's of 60/40 stance
Just like the title reads, what are the pro's and con's of this setup? The new Downtown hero uses it... http://downtowndelrin.com/products/h...ition-chassis/ |

Not to put someone down but that seems really expensive to me.

| What are you talking about. its 40.00 for the chassis. 60.00 for chassis and lower links and 73.00 for upper and lower . thats a good deal. 60/40 is better because the weight tranfer. 60% front 40% rear. It is made to climb better. |

I donno, just looks a little thin on the material. Might make for a lightweight truck though.

60/40 seems to climb better, but has not been as consistent for me. A 50/50 truck seems to be more consistent in weight transfer, down hills and side hills in my experience. Depends on driving style, terrain and personal preference.

I made this one last year, been running it ever since. I like a 60/40 set up over a 50/50. On this truck the trans/motor are moved forward 1" , and I'm running a little more weight (can't remember exactly how much) in the rears than I did with a 50/50 set up to help while down hilling. |

The chassis is made of the same thickness as pretty much any other Delrin TVP Style chassis. I've done so much testing and R&D and silly little change's from the beginning with this chassis. I've ran 50/50 and a 60/40 style rig. IMO Nothing can climb like a 60/40, But we also found the perfect link split so that your not loosing capabilitys of a 50/50.. Sidehilling etc.. I love my rig, I feel few can follow it at times when thrown down and free crawling. And Expensive ? I think Dowtown Delrin Works is priced very competitively.. |

I ran a 60/40 setup on my AX10 tuber. While I liked the handling, I had problems with breaking the shorter front driveshaft more often than I did when it was 50/50. I was running full droop, and at full extension of the shocks, the driveshaft would bind.

Im running a 60/40 and LOVE it. It took a little time to get the front flex dialed in because if it flexed too much the front driveshaft would bind and also Id get axle swing but I changed some link mount holes and internal spring stiffness, and I was good to go. |

| You must be thinking with your dip stick Jimmy. 60/40 setups are proven and Great for MOA's. Its about the dial in, and if done right, a winner. No the chassis doesn't make you a winner, but you need to find what suits you'r driving style. I'm going to do one with my Bully build soon. The slow style of my driving ( I call it CRAWLING) will suit well with the 60/40 set up. Way to go Downtown, another home run! |

Ive also built a Hero and found the price to great. Downtown Rocks. The chassis performs flawlessly when set up correct. I like the vertical climbs and found the 50/50 set up doesnt compare when it comes to ledges and hi degree slopes. Buy a Hero, You cant go wrong.

Sorry, I take back what I said. I have no experience with MOA or delrin, I shouldn't have said anything. I didn't really look good at the pictures either.

I have ran almost all my rigs at 60/40 I have tried 50/50, but I have found that 60/40 outperforms 50/50 in all aspects in our terrain! run what feels best to you though! |

a 60/40 truck takes lots of tuning to get right. it took me about 2 months to get right. it would take me about a week to get a 50/50 truck set up. there are some things the 60/40 does very well but somethings it well strugle on. a 50/50 truck is a good all around truck. i run a hero and i like it alot.
