Default RC4WD R2 2 Speed DIG Tranny What transmitter???

So i am looking to upgrade to a the RC4wd R2 2 Speed DIG Tranny although from what i understand it requires that you use a 4 Channel Transmitter or a 3 Channel Transmitter with the 3 channel having a 3 position switch.

My first, question is what the best to operate this type tranny that has so many function?

Next, if i have to use a 4 Channel transmitter who makes a fairly cheap one ((ie:$ not quality) (sp?))?

Then, if i have to use a 3 Channel transmiiter who make a good 3 Channel transmitter that has a 3 position switch to run all the functions? Also where can i find a servo that has 3 positions, is that just a motor or what?

Also as you can tell i am new here a noob, so forgive me if i am going about this totally wrong.

I would have posted in the rc4wd section but it wouldnt let.

As always thank you in advance and advice is helpful

You will need a 4 channel radio to use both dig and 2 speed along with a servo for each. Any servo with 100+ torque should be fine. The only 4 channel pistol radio I know of is the Futaba 4pk which is around $500. There are plenty of 4+channel stick radios that will work if ya can drive with sticks.

Traxxas also makes one in 2.4 ghz with a 2 position 3rd channel and a 3 position 4th channel. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXWET8&P=ML not alot of adjustability but decent price

I would say the best one within your budget, the Futaba is going to have a lot more adjustability, where as the traxxas is going to get you going, but it is very basic

You really should also have end point adjustment on all channels to keep from frying your servos. The Spektrum dx6 or futaba 6ex are good stick choices. Ya may have to do some easy mods to get them to work like ya want.

Yes it is that one.

Everything will just plug in like any standard receiver, as for binding it to the transmitter you will have to read the instructions, nothing too hard.
