Default R2D setup with modded TQ3

I just got in my R2D.
From my understanding, with the linkage pushed in all the way, it's in 4wd, pulled out all the way it's 2wd freewheel and somewhere in between (which i can't find) is supposedly 2wd lock

That being the case, how the heck am i supposed to get this to work with my TQ3 modded with momentary ON-off-ON toggle switch.

If "off" is center position and i adjust the linkage so that it's 4wd, how will I be able to select the other positions?

2wd freewheel should be no problem, but i'd like to use 2wd lock too.

You're close, but not quite there.

IN=4wd
CENTER=2wd freewheel
OUT=2wd lock

When I had mine running on a tq3 modded with a 3 pos switch and epas- ----you did add epa's right, this won't work if you dont...

I used a non-momentary switch (that's not what it's called but you get the idea) I had it set so

ON - 4wd

OFF - 2wd freewhell

ON - 2wd lock

Worked really well once I had the epa's set right.

LMK if you need anymore help with this I'll try to walk you through setting it up best I can.

Never set up a dig, but what I would do is; hook up the linkage from the servo horn to the dig, take the servo horn off the servo. Then turn on your radio and set the 3rd channel to its center position, move the linkage till the dig is in its center position(should be front dig). Then just place the servo horn back on the servo while keeping the linkage in its spot.
Now the center position will be setup, and when you move it one way, it will go to 4wd, the other will go freewheel.
This setup you wont have 4wd in your "off" position, but it should work.

How did that effect battery life?

It occured to my I might could use one of my stock TQ3's and manipulate the trim switch for the 3rd selection.
I might play around with that too.

I was running a 7 cell 4000 mah pack in that truck, so I'm sure there was a drop in battery life, but it wasn't noticable at all.
