Default Extending R2D output shaft.

Is there any way to extend the dig side output shaft on the R2D?

I'm running maxx shafts and they don't leave enough room between it and the shift shaft to install the linkage collar.

Didn't someone make some output adapters that might work?

RC4WD use to have some available that extended them i believe.

Have you tried using the wheel stub side of the maxx shafts? its a smaller diameter and may let enough room for the dig shaft.

I had the same problem on mine. Best solution I came up with was shaving down the yoke to clear the collar, doesn't look the best but it was fast cheap and help up just fine.

I don't have the wheel side pieces. I'll check the LHS tomorrow and eyeball it.

Probably what I'll end up doing. I'm just worried about strength.
How much did you have to remove?

I shaved mine from the face of the yoke to the leading edge of the hole for the cross pin, depth was just far enough to clear the collar, so the length of the yoke didnt change at all.

I ran mine hard for quite awhile never broke it, if I hadn't pulled that truck apart to build a scaler I'd probably still be running it just as it was.

Just to update.
My sideway servo mount kit came in today and it actually includes an adapter to lengthen the shaft past the collar.

No hole in the shaft for my Maxx grub pin though.

I output shafts come with 'em, so why not the extender???

Anyway, is this something I can drill myself without a drill press?

The extenders have the tiny 3mm set screws and I couldn't keep mine tight for the life of me. I even used some clearance fit loctite that is permanent. Had to drill out the set screw. I ended up getting a smaller servo arm collar from xtm and now my MIP shafts lock onto the output with the 4mm set screws.
