Chances are, the original Losi parts are made in China, in the same factory.

I wonder how many American brands are actually 100%, or even 50%, made in USA.

If I can get enough people to donate $5 each to my paypal account, I'll buy one and post up pictures when I get it! Plus I'll buy a star to support the site.

the decideing factor on this issue is quality control.

ex. an american brand, apple's iphone is manufactured in china, but most iphone knock off's are also manufactured in china

It's next to impossible these days to go totally U.S. made, it's just too expensive.

I developed and support a pump controller for swimming pool pumps that monitors vacuum and prevents suction entrapment. 5 years ago when we first starting spec'ing parts for the board we tried very hard to make it a totally U.S. manufactured product. It turned out to be very difficult if not impossible. We still ended up with a small percentage of foriegn parts in order to keep the price reasonable for the consumer.

My friends who made my MTB frame (www.canfieldbrothers.com) have the same problem. They take their designs to Taiwan to have them welded up (at Pacific, they also weld up Banshee's and a couple other makes) because to have it done here on U.S. soil by the likes of Tony Ellsworth or Sherwood Gibson they'd end up priced out of the reach of a majority of the market. They actually spend 2-3 weeks there during production runs, personally overseeing the entire process and doing their own Q.C.

Issue 149 of ridebmx did an article on how the majority of bike parts are made in Taiwan. Many different brands are produced in the same factory. If you want something made in the USA, be willing to pay for it. With that said, I'd never trade my American made FBM for anything. But I'm willing to pay for it. Americans making bikes

Back on topic. If rc is anything like the bike industry, this crawler is probably made in the same factory as the losi. Unless someone verifies it wasn't..
