Default MOA Platform

Looking to start a MOA 2.2 rig and I wanted to get some input as to what people think would be the best platform to start with.

BERG

RC4WD Bully

MOA Converted LCC

Something else I didn't list?! Make a case!

Post some thoughts as to why you think so.

I voted berg because they are super popular and the aftermarket is huge for them. They are the most expensive option though.

I think the Bullies are also a very good choice, they are still kinda new, but they are getting better and better with time and they are a lot cheaper. If I was getting into the MOA for the first time and didn't want to drop $1K+ on a rig I would probably go with these rather than the bergs I currently run.

The LCC MOA is pointless IMO and a waste of money. If your going to go MOA, just get a MOA axle that is designed from the ground up as a MOA axle. The above two options are stronger, have a lower COG, and are already made out of aluminum so you don't have to upgrade from all plastic parts.

Berg.

Bully's are too heavy and too narrow for my liking.

I've seen a few LCC moa's that do quite well but I just don't like the worm gears.

I voted bully for cost, out of the box BEEF easy to get parts if you do break something(I have still never snapped an axle) and just plain reliablity..

only thing I have broke/bent was some link mounts when I cart wheeled my rig tire to tire down a BIG sand stone slop....tweaked the link mounts but still got me through the rest of the comp!!

I've got a piece of mechanical pencil lead that would last longer in my crawler than an HR axle shaft....

Anther "waht MOA" thread--in for the win

Your going to get opnions mainly based on what we run. My best advise is sit down for a few hours and do some readin on the subject and try to make your own conclusion..

With that said I am happy with my bully's

LCC (Losi comp crawler) with the Eritex moa (motor on axle) conversion.

It's not hard to shorten berg axles to fit. 300s can even be made to fit. The HRs are lighter & narrower than any MOAs plus all the berg internals are interchangeable. Dill the knuckles to 4m and ya are good ta go. They are a pita but when ya get them set up they may be the best.

That may be true, but I'm lazy! I ran my Bullys right outta the box (with an additional bit of loctite and grease) and never had an issue.

I broke an HR axle shaft within 5 minutes of driving in my driveway...
