Default Thinking about getting a Venom Creeper, is it worth it?

I've been putting off buying a crawler for a while and now the price on the creeper is so low I can't say no. has the price dropped because it isn't a good crawler or is it because they (venom) don't have part support like Axial does? Is it worth it for me to spend $150 bones on the creeper or should I just wait to see what comes next, I hear something new and different is on the horizon.

I bought mine on ebay for 119 about a month ago, and I have been very pleased. I did however install the axial diff locks but there is a new locker out from rcbros that is a direct fit. The creeper seems to crawl very nicely. I do not like the lower links that much but I hear that the axial links will fit just fine so I ordered a set of 30 degree links for it.

my main concern about the creeper is venoms extreme price drop. it seems like they are trying to liquidate their stock, and not planning to support the creeper in the future.
just somthing to think about when you eventually break somthing and need replacement parts. and dont say, "ohh i take care of my stuff," trust me, you will break somthing, it's in the nature of any hobby

if you arent going to comp with it go with a axial, the parts support is unmatched. if you think you may start comping go with a berg.the axial and losi are just pieces of plastic [axle housings] in comparison.
if you have your heart set on a shafty but want to attend some comps go losi.the aftermarket parts support will soon be there "I believe".
and you will have what the axial doesnt, front and rear dig!
plus if you want you can go moa with the losi, again not an option with the axial. but either way you will be better of NOT buy a rtr, when you do you are buying crapy electronics you will have to replace soon anyhow, and plastic links.why would you do that? get a kit or find something used. never ever rtr..............MY OPINION. good luck whatever you do.

The venom creeper is a kit not a ready to run. With a few minor issues wich can be addressed during the build, it can be a very solid crawler.

I have found you usually get what you pay for most of the time.not saying its a "bad" crawler though

When I was deciding which to go with I looked at everything from the venom to modding a wheelie king and when it was all said and done I am real glad I went with the axial. I was looking for a comp crawler though not sure what your needs are. I was able to find mine for $180 brand new. They have sales all the time that bring the kit price down here is one that is current.

I'll be doing a review on both before I sell the axial to solve this problem of the ax-10 vs. creeper

Default It's on the way!!

I went ahead and purchased The Creeper, it comes with the remote locker and servo so I'll be installing that immediately. This is my first crawler, I've wanted one since the Axial RTR came out a while back but I couldn't bring myself to pay $250 bucks for something that goes >1mph. I purchased a Traxxas Summit TQ4 on eBay for about $70 and the HB Rovers and a Hitec 645MG (all I could afford) are on the way from CKRC. I have 2 sets of Traxxas steel yokes on the way from eBay also and I have some Jato half shafts laying around to upgrade the drive line. I can't decide on a motor speedo combo yet though and in reality don't have all the money for it. I was thinkink either Tekin FXR 45t Crawler Combo or Novak Rooster Crawler/45T Motor Combo, in the mean time I was wondering if I could use my Titan 550 and an LRP speed control from one of my other trucks till I can afford a proper set up. I really don't know if it will work out.
