Default maxx trans rear disco project

Been working with a emaxx transmission trying to do the rear disconnect. Using only a low gear set. I cut a window in in the stock gear box. My plan is to use a second output shaft with the low output gear fixed to this shaft. This gear would run off the original low output gear. When shifted to second(without the high gear set) the original output shaft spins free but the second shaft will still be driven. Still trying to figure out how to mount the second output shaft without building a whole new gear box.

i had the same idea to try with my tmaxx and then use the break on the rear to hold it in place, it looked to hard for right now seeing as how the semester is ending but hope fully you can figure it out and make it easy. good work hope it turns out nice

Originally I planned on using brakes of tmaxx to lock the rear. Figured I work on the disco first.

The brake would only be applied when shifted to disco(2nd). The rear driveshaft would be connected to the first/original output shaft. In disco mode, that shaft wouldn't move and the gear acts as idler. Makes sense in my head.
