Question Tamiya Boomerang crawler!

I am new to this site,but if anybody has any ideas you do. I am building a crawler from a tamiya boomerang. custom of course,but has anybody tried to build up this type of shafty?I am using cvd axles from an evader for the 2 drive shafts.custom built transfer case. pneumatic cylinder & alluminum shock for the back bone some what of a stick,but without all the clearance. I am having trouble with the steering & how to keep it up and out of the way. should i go gekko style? all help is greatly appreciated. I will post pics as soon as my ex gives my camera back. (anybody been there)
