Default 1:6th transmitter upgrade anyone?

I really dislike these cheesy Xmitters on the Nylints 1:6th, and I would like to run either my synthesized Hitec, my JR an Airtronics or even a TQ3 one. I have looked at the board and see the crystal which simply reads d4.000.

Has anyone yet figured out what frequency 27mhz/75mhz AM or FM these things run on?

If so, I would like to try either:

1- Synthesize the frequency to control with my Hitec
2- Unsoldering the crystal and inserting an appropriate Frequency AM/FM crystal.

I have already replaced all the electronics on the 1:18th with upgraded stuff but I'm trying to reuse the existing stuff on the 1:6th since it's already proportional.

Anyone out there who can offer any help or has done this mod yet?

I have wondered also and what I have found out is that my 1/18 is on 27.145 but any 27.145 futaba AM I try does nothing to control it. I merely want to use my futaba to run the nylint.

Call up the wonderful tech support guys and ask them if they use propriatory systems. I bet they do. oooH. Sugguest that they make their new systems compatible with Standar electronics. I wonder how the "Band" switch works...

Well if it's 27 MHz, then I wonder if unsoldering that crystal, and inserting a crystal holder for replacable crystals would work.

I'm pretty knowledgable about other stuff but the detailed electronics get's me.

Anyone familiar with electronics know if the receiver board and the xmitter have to have the same logic built in to understand the signals received via the crystal.

I'll also be calling tech, but I doubt that they would release that info.
