| Need your advice of building custom dually
Although I'm a newbie at crawling, I've been into RC for over 10 years now and have always wanted to build a dually from scratch. Please bare with me if my "crawling lingo" isn't up to par Chassis: I've been looking into what chassis to work with. Anything on the market thats easily accessable while not breaking the bank? I can always CAD/fabricate one from scratch, but would prefer to see what you guys have to recommend first. Axles: Been thinking of the TREX 60 front/rear units. Are they as tough as they look? How about the axial units... any better? I would prefer to mount the axles on leaf springs. Transmission: Although I'm found of the Axial unit, I really got my eye on the RC4WD Killer transfer case. Anything else worth looking into? Wheels/tires: RC4WD sells these sweet set of 6 piece aluminum tires/wheel combo, but looking for something less expensive. Anyone know what would look good. Any help or links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! |

for a chassis i would go with the scx10 chassis the t-rex 60's are anwesome scaler axle(dont think they would hold up to a comp rig, but are great on scalers) as for a transmisson just go with one that fits your build (rc4wd R2, axial, if you go with the transfer case you will still need a tranny under the hood) and the rc4wd dually wheels look sick if you got the coin, otherwise just make some by glueing two 1.9's together good luck your hardest part will be the body |
