| took the 1:6 crawling today....**update with pics**
First time i have ever really gotten to play with a crawler and holy crap!! these things are sweet!! it went pretty much everywhere i pointed it although it took some clever driving. the creek i took it to is one of like 4-5 potental places for me to crawl whenever. its about 3mintues from my house so its nice. i will have pictures up later. so far after 2.5 hours of HARD driving in mostly low range thereis no breakage. i also made a sheet metal skid plate for the front axle to take some brunt off the plastic and i broke it in fairly good. as for the jeep body...hehe

Crawling area 1..Terrain.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0133.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0134.jpg steeper then it looks http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0135.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0136.jpg Crawling... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0137.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0138.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0139.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0140.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0141.jpg Crawling Area 2...Terrain.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0148.jpg was easier for the crawler to get up this then the less sloped side http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0149.jpg crawler wouldnt go up that line.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0147.jpg far as it got.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0150.jpg went through here fine http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0146.jpg arch-nemisis of my crawler....stair steps..hehe http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0145.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...s/PDRM0144.jpg showing off front skid Couple of things i noticed about the nylint tires... they dont liek being wet really. they clog fast in lose sandy gravel when wet. they do clean fast and easy on concrete rubbish, have plenty of flex when they need to after about 2.5 hour the battery started to die and cut out but i had fun. drove it real hard today, like i said above the body has some good damage to it but not mangled yet. prolley gonna go to another place tomorrow and play some more. |
