|  Best way to strip your wheels for paint, How to remove Chrome
This, discovered by accident, is for anyone looking for an easy way to prep your wheels for painting. I took my wheels apart this evening and ran them through the dishwasher to get them nice and clean for painting. When i removed them i was shocked to find them not only clean, but completely stripped of the chrome paint. I guess the combination of heat and the detergent did the trick.
