Talking Woot Woot!, time to start modding, different ideas?

got my Nylint, FINALLY!

1. if i let it sit still for a few seconds (about 10) it will start making a faint buzzing sound, and adjusting the trim stops it. could this be due to the low battery? (i opened the box, stuck a battery in the remote, and tried it out )

2. major tummy tuck is in order for it, it bottomed out trying to climb the stairs outside, i THINK it would have made it if the belly wasn't there, so i plan to do the tummy tuck, BUT, will the center of gravity be raised to much if i use the stock battery instead of one of the fast and the furious batterys? i spent all my money on the crawler, and couldn't afford the extra 20 for the battery :?

thanks for any help and/or info

the buzzing is normal and not indicative of anything other than the steering motor applying a tiny amount of load. Twitching the steering wheel or moving the Jeep will usually stop the noise.

thanks!

now i got another question...has anyone stretched the wheelbase on one of these by moving the axle forward/backward on the links? you could only use two of the screws, but you would gain about 1/2 inch of wheelbase at each end, and it really seems like this thing could use a little more wheelbase (was flipping over backwards really easy and the body wasn't even on.....)

i was thinking 1/2 inch at each would also make it look a little better and i cant come up with any other way to lengthen it that would look good still.

that's exactly how you do it. You will have to take a file to part of the blue plastic arm, but that's about it besides body trimming.

ok, someone help!

i took the front shocks off to see if i could easier see where its binding, and i cant find anywhere that it binds.

maybe i didn't lose artic, and i just didn't look at it close enough before the mod.

what are some tricks for getting more flex out of the front?

ok, i think i got it now....the blue "block" that the axle pivots on was hitting the triangular looking piece on the axle.....so i notched the triangular piece.....little more flex then stock now.....

i still want more though

i cant figure out how you guys are getting 10+ inches.....i have notched as much as i consider safe, and im only getting about 8.....

You should have bought a jeep and the scorpion, switched chassis, then returned the scorpion. I did this to get a limited edition scorpion with upgraded chassis for my brother in law.

only had $170, time i bought the Scorp, an x-acto knife, and a 9 volt battery, i now have $13....just didn't have enough $, but that did cross my mind when they were both sitting there on the shelf side by side , cept i considered doing it right there in the store....but that coulda got me in trouble

i must say though, with the wheelbase stretched a little, the Scorp looks pretty sweet!
