Default New Rocker Guards

I got tired of the old rocker guards that hang way low, so my awsome buddy fabbed up some new ones out of some sheet steel and steel 3/16ths brakeline brazed together. He cut off the old guards right at the body level and screwed the rockers onto the old supports and also bolted it to the body. Sorry but I only have the finished pictures

They turned out very strong and can take being smashed onto rocks.

Well shucks guys.

I love my new rockers. Feel free to copy/improve/whatever. I'm not dont with her tho.

Plan on fabbing up a rear stinger and an excocage to help protect the paint some.

Thanks for all the favoribal responses.

Happy Crawlin!

That's wicked dood. Looks really clean. An exo would be sweet, are you gonna make it out of brakeline too or will it be too weak?

Yes it will be made out of brake line.

The Brazing in incredably strong ( I can pick up the whole rig by just the bars) so the strength of the line will not be the problem.

I just need to figure out how I will tie it into the body.

people build complete tubers out of 3/16 brake line, so it will be fine as long as you have a little bracing in there.

as for tieing it into the body, make it bolt onto the sliders, and put a piece of the sheetmetal like the tube is brazed to at the front and back....that way the sliders and front/back and all be tied together, then build up from there....

SWEET! Nice choice of body color too . . . but if I see many more of these yellow Jeeps I'll have to repaint my 1:6 and my 1:1 . . .
