Default RcBros Wheelbase Jig

Because of the new 2010 rules it has become even more important to have your wheelbase on point.

I have been using aluminum jigs for my builds for sometime now and have had a few buddies ask for a set.

I figured I'd see what kind of interest was on the forums and see if I should put these boogers up for sale. Price will be pretty cheap like always

Below is what i've been using

It allows one axle to be planted, while the other end can be adjusted from 12" to 12.5"

My question to you members is this, would the material shown in the picture be enough, or would you want your axles suspended higher, say out of 1 or 1.5" aluminum. Would you want both ends to be slotted or just one?

And would you care to have notches above the slotted areas for a more precise measurement?

I would go with a little bigger aluminum, that will help with keeping axles level when they are clocked differently from one another. Also, notches or a sticker with the notches (sounds cheaper) would be nice. If you can keep the price down on the jig it should sell well.

I would ask Yota if you can copy his design since he doesn't want to make them anymore. They are the best I've seen. Heres his old thread:

1 x 1 Aluminum angle. I started with a yard stick and switched to the algle. I helps keep the axles off the ground. Makes it easier to set link length and pinion angles.

if ya gonna do one, make it so that you can do 2.2 and a 1.9 as well.
id like it to be raised, not laying flat on the ground.

my 2 cents

Here's mine:

For 2.2 it ranges from about 12" up to 13" and for the 1.9 it's from about 7.75" to 9".

I agree..go with some aluminum angle VS flat stock it'll be a more stable platform to work with resulting in easier tuning and more accurate results!

Plus with angle you have the option of mounting it to something stationary..like your work bench

and adding notches of some sort would be awesome! Whether they be stickers or engraved

Can't add much other then I'd buy one! All the idea are great... Ideally I'd like angle, one hole slotted, and a bit higher off the bench. Just like everyone has mentioned.... I like the sticker idea or laser etched above the slotted hole to keep it precise on the wb you want.
