| What do I call it.
I am keen to build a new wheeler, now what it is called is a mystery to me. I have searched up and down and round and round the forums for what I want and have yet to find a common class type or name of what I am after. It will be 2.2 or close, no real rules here It must be quicker than a stock Creeper, about slow jog. Say 8-10mph Can have solid axles front and rear. Good GC and Cog, That is up to me to sort. Look kind of scale. I will have to choose a body to suit. My modded Creeper is a very nice crawler and I like it a lot and will keep it as such. I want another rig to bash with and run in mud etc. Waterproofing electrics is easy, I do FE boats so am used to that. My mate has a Crawler-King and can change a pinion in about a minute flat and have a trail ready "runner" I will build another truck to go bush on these trips, I can shoot the Creeper in a small backpack in case there is some real rock that looks good too. I have considered using a TL-01B based buggy but am not real keen on the solid front to rear shaft. I can grab one of these cheap enough as a donor for axles, trans, link ends etc and do my own chassis and then drop a chopped ute body on there. http://www.nitrorcx.com/exrcma14wdel.html This can be a discussion thread for a fast crawler / trail thing Remember I am in New Zealand, so pretty much most of what I need has a real big postage stamp on it. |
