Default pinion gear

i have my clod crawler almost complete but am wondering if the pinion doesn't fully touch the plastic gear if it will cause problems. i am running 9t pinions on 55t motors and have already put rcguy adjustable motor mounts on. the pinion is basically at the tip of the motor arm and i can't extend it futher so that the entire pinion's teeth come in contact with the plastic gear inside. anyone got any ideas

which way is your pinion?
If you put the grub screw to the inside of the motor shaft u can hang the pinion over the edge and still just screw it on.

The RCGUY 8 tooth pinions contact the full face of the input gear.

I dont think it is posible to run your pinion with the set screw to the outside of the shaft ... the set screw will hit the teeth on the plastic gear... RCGUY 8 tooth pinions are your best bet. I tried running with the same problem you are having and it worked fine for awhile but i eventualy striped gears
