Default cvd assembly....grease or not?

I'm looking at the Axial cvd set sitting on my bench waiting to be installed and wondering. Being open joints do I grease them or not?:?

I rub some grease on the barrel when I put them together.

I think a dry graphite lube works best for cvd's. To much grease and dirt and grime just gets worked into the CVD.

i grease mine and then put heat shrink over them. get red heat shrink and it makes the axles look like longfields or rcv axles.

From what I've read, the guys that make them (mip, super 300's) say to grease them to break them in and after 3 or 4 packs take them apart, clean grease off and replace with a light, thin oil (wd-40).

I have done a few different cvd's and like the heatshrink idea too.
After about 6 hours of run time I pull them, clean and inspect, regrease reshrink and then put them back in.

Maintenance saves a lot of money

One of the first rules learned from elders... never grease them.

It will collect the dust and make things worst.
