Default Wont shift into high anymore... help?

i just put high range back in my crawler because i found i did not have enough wheelspeed for climbing hills.

got it all back together and the back axle is acting like its in nuetral. i just had it completely apart, so i know there is no broken pins or anything.....

There really is only two reasons way. ( I think.)

1. The 4 small ballbearings under the center sleeve. If they fell out it would think it's in nuetral. Or they could be stripped.
2. the arm isn't moving over far enough over to put it in HI.

Check these two things over real good and makes sure all of it working right. the white gears for the Hi/Low motor might not be inlined right. These are the only reasons I can think of.

That happend to me once when I put the high/low arm back on didn't center it over the ring on the coupler, arm would move but wouldn't take the coupler with it.

i think i found the problem  unfortuneately, one of the "bearings" in the high/low case fell out. anyone have one they can part with? i have been through all my old bicycle bearings and nothing will fit

EDIT: ok, WTF. it works fine without the axle cover in plce, shifts like normal and everything. last night i could hold the axle with my 2 fingers and pull the throttle and the motor would spin, but the axle wouldn't.....

i still think its the little bearing doing it. i need a bearing and the metal rod that the gear (gear that moves the black arm) spins on (dunno where it went, all my nylint parts were in a box)

who wants to hook me up?

ok, heres the problem. after sitting here shifting it back and forth with the cover off i finally got it to do it.

the black arm will pop up over the white gear and it will go to the center (where the balls aren't engaging the high or low gearset), therefore it is like nuetral.

could only get it to do it once. anyone else had this problem?

question about parts still stands though. anyone got the rod and/or bearing they can part with?

Not to sound stupid but if the bearings are in is the black arm seated all the way and the screw tight? Another problem I've had was testing it with just the housing clips holding it together without the screws and the housing flexed enough for the arm gear to slip.

yes, its seated as far as it can go, screws are all tight, bearings in the slider are good, its the bearings in the high/low set that i am missing one of.

i had it all back together last night and it still had the problem.

take out the switches in the front axle, shifter motor and gears, clip the wires, pull the wires out, hook the black and white wires together that went to the "low" button, then take the motor and gears out of the back.....hot glued the sliders in place and it was locked in low.....easy as pie....

everything works perfectly with the cover off the back axle, but if i put it on it wont shift into high, it just goes from low to "nuetral"

hmmmm maybe some how something is rubing on the cover when you put it back on:neutral:

this maybe a dumb question but......are you sure that the white shifting gear isnt upside down
and all the gears are meshing correctly
