Default pics of new front bumper/stinger/fenders

Me and a friend built this new front rock bumper/stinger with integrated tube fenders for his 1:6 Jeep. The front fenders were starting to turn white from flexing when rolling. This should help some. I think we spent 4-5 hours on it. We nipped the fenders back a little too. I think it turned out pretty good. Here's the link incase the pics don't show up again-I suck at the internet: http://www.imagestation.com/album/pi...134&mode=guest

I think the skid plates are next. We couldn't add any stinger supports without it being ugly. I don't think it's going anywhere though.

Yeah, I just used a Miller 135 mig welder. It worked out pretty good.

why don't you just run two supports from the grile loop to the stinger? That'd make it stronger, and IMHO it'd look better. Great work!

I thought about that, but they end up going "out" instaed of "forward. It looked weird. Is anyone else having a hard time seeing the pics? If I look up my imagestation album on another browser, the pics show up, but as soon as I close the other browser, they go away.

It looks good, but seems a little small for a 1/6. You guys DEFINITLY did a nice job, but would look a lot better on say, a 1/18. Good WORK!!

Yeah, just a regular mig...no grinding except on the lower "rock bumper". The body comes off as usual. The main part of the bumper is attached with the three screws that hold the original stinger on, the the tube fenders run all the way back to the dash(under the body), and attach there with screws. The grille hoop is 1/4" solid round stock, and the fenders are 3/16" solid cold rolled stock. We could have gone with 5/16" and 1/4" on the fenders but it would have added more weight. He wanted some weight, but not a too much. I think he's going to do metal axle skids next, and then possibly boatsides.
