Default Custom chassis hardware

I've been contemplating some ideas in my head about a custom chassis I'd like to build, but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some hardware to use that's already made instead of having to piece everything together from Home Depot parts. The main pieces I'll build from some sheet metal, but what about cross braces, and screws and fasteners?

I did a search for about an hour, but couldn't really come up with anything.

Thanks in advance!

Default advise

if you buy a tltl kit it has a lot of good hardware in it that is very usable. Also I built all my trailing arms from thick wall aluminum tube and just threaded the ends for my ball receivers. Good luck and it kinda depends on what you are going to use for axles.

Stick with it, you'll love your crawler!!

I'll be using Clod axles.. I'll probably just try to build it all myself.

Also, what's the normal width of a chassis? liek 4" maybe?

first off I would use somthing like aluminum(sp?) or lexen for the chassis...and the standard size for most of the hardware is 3mm youcan use all thread through tube for bracing...hope this helps

Savage motor mounts make great crossbrace....This should help a lil bit.

I found that my local ACE hardware store has a great assortment of metric stuff. If you have one near you try them.HD and Lowes sort of sucked.

http://www.rcscrewz.com/ Is where my hardware comes from. The crossbraces depend on what chassis style you are going with.
