Is there a ideal place on the maxstone to place the links to correct TT or is it trial and error

i got the stage 1 kit, it helps, but there's still noticeable TT. sucks, but i've learned to live with it.

i tried putting pen springs inside the shocks, that didnt help either.

Mine came with 3 sets of springs. I used the stiffest ones on the rear, moved rear lower links to the inside of the chassis, and there is no torque twist.

Can you just flip the motor around so the weight of the motor is on the passenger side of the crawler? Youll still have TT going in reverse, but shouldant be there going forward. Worked on my 16.

Sorry no pics at the moment. Pretty simple, unbolt the links and move them inside. Might need longer bolts and grind the trans mount. I forget, it's been a while. And only the rear fits since the motor is in the way. I think I got the idea from a search I did on this site.

My girlfriend bought a 1/10 scale maxstone crawler in march of 2013, It worked good the first 3 times using it around the complex I live in. There is a variety of terrain to go wheeling on, some rocks, embankments and so forth. The fourth time crawling up an embankment the rear axle quit pulling,I took the differential apart and the plastic connect box the axles connect to stripped out. Since no replacement parts were available on nitrorcx on the site, my girl called them directly, they found one connect box in their inventory and she bought it. I installed the new part and ran the toy, the front connect box stripped out on that outing, since no other parts are available i J B welded the axles to the connect box . It is only a patch, the weld breaks after running a couple of times. I do bnot recommend this crawler for any hard four wheeling. I run an HPI Crawler King that has been indestructible. I even built a trailer it pulls to haul the max stone since it breaks alot

The kid and his buddy have had one for over a year and they kick the crap out of it and the lockers are still fine in theirs.

I want to put a dig unit on my maxstone 10, currently my upgrades are:

- front steering with a savox 1256
- rear steering with stock servo (sucks as it cannot handle weight of the rc)
- alluminum gears from helipal (hsp pangolin = exceed maxstone)
- 150g weight for front wheels

I've been reading about those dig units for single motor applications, but none of them are designed for maxstones, so I'd like to know if anyone has ever tried to put those dig units

How similar is that trans to an ax10?

That chassis setup looks great! I think a set of 1.9, and a 1" drop in the skid height would make it look killer!

You could also grind off the diff guard mounting posts on the bottom of the pumpkin but grind too close and you might go all the way through. I did this to mine and just put some epoxy over the holes and ground that down. No more catching on the rocks though. Those posts MAY be hollow, that might be why I went and made a hole. You can get epoxy in a tube that's ready to go with hardner and all at the auto parts store. Just pinch off a piece, kneed it like dough and that activates all the chemicals and makes it more plyable. Drys hard as a rock. Good stuff to have around.

I just ran my first full pack through my max 10 today. Quite impressed really, for the price. I didn't realize it came with waterproof electronics but started looking as I was making a few mods and sure enough it is waterproof. I did switch to lipo 2S, rover tires, cut trans mount and I boarded links, batt on front links all electronics on top plate but upside down and underneath. Cut body (a lot) and lowered front with stock axial shocks. Sure did get rid of those rock catching axle guards and smoothed the mounts. I did not like the steering at all, servo has no power and doesn't turn near enough to suit me. Seems like some bent links are in order as well. Again, for the money seems like a great platform.

Anybody still running this truck? I want to make mine a little more scale. I don't mind sacrificing crawling ability. I have seen some videos of a Silverado body that looks good on it, but every time someone asks what body is that the guy never answers that question. What wlil fit with the stock wheelbase? I also might use some C-channel to mount real bumpers on it. I'm thinking a silver and lime green paint job would look good with the green anodized parts.
