Default transfer case question?

http://www.rc4wdshop.com/go/product_...roducts_id=314 what does this do? if im correct it allows the switch from FWD to RWD to 4WD.

Its 1.1 ratio it does nothing, its just for looks mostly

Not for looks. It allows you to run a t-case in the middle of your rig, where your tranny normally would be. Then the tranny and motor can be moved up front under the hood and out of the way, just like a 1:1. Used all the time in the scale world. The t-case is much smaller and can usually fit underneath the interior of the cab which is why it's used.

sound like for looks to me. They making it look like a atlas without any function. that would be for LOOK'S

If it served no function then I doubt it would appear in so many builds... Its just as ecoli said, it allows a trans with a big flywheel to be mounted up front, and then the power is sent to the much smaller t-case, then forward and back to the axles from said much smaller t-case that can be hidden under an interior. And adds an element of scaleness if thats a word. Motor--trans--transfer case, as in a 1:1... engine--trans--transfer case

if your building something with an open interior a transfer case is almost always needed.

Yes its for looks, its also functional. Depends on what your using it for.

Will it switch between 4wd and 2wd... no.
does it make it possible to run a full interior...yep
