Took some shots of the RTR version that I will have along with my comp style rig with upper link plates.. The new shorter shocks bodies and upper mounting position improved the ride height ...The upper link mount will be replaced with a multiple position version, what is in the pic is temp...,but ether way it fixes the axle wrap issue

Looks tons better already, and these are things that are easy fixes for them to implement. I see a Dragon MkII in the very near future if they have any smarts.

So I took it out for a spin...I ran all the RTR electronics..And no surprise that it was lacking wheel speed, steering, and drag brake..as for the Komodo it self...Not to bad ,seemed to climb and side hill well and torque twist was minimal with the stock four link ...Steering will be an issue..It has a turning radius like a stock Bully axle so I will have to grind the knuckles ...It had a hard time making its way through the course with the stock servo and limited steering...The motor stalled out a lot ....I will have to put in my Extra speed control, motor and servo and go at it again ...Sorry I forgot my camera ,But I have a comp this Sunday and will get some pics and possible video of how it handles stock..there is no sport class at this event...so I will not be comping it... I guess I could, Na....no reason for that..I will wait till I can make the changes and use my pro Rig

That rig was not too bad. The steel driveshafts look pretty good to me, pretty strong and not big diameter, just drill them for 4mm setscrews and they should hold up fine.

I pulled them apart today...And they do have splines...just for the hell of it I tried them on my Daughters AX-10 and the fit pretty good...That could be a plus..less spare parts for me to carry around

Exactly what I was thinking. It might need a little different link/shock mount, but I think it would work pretty easily.

Already on in it....Thursday the steering got hung up on every thing...I do not think PRP will implement this to the RTR,but to be competitive there is no way I can't I am having some clearance issues I will post some pics...What do you think about spacing the lower link mounts back to gian clearance from the shocks?.. Not shure....Or if I should just make new lower mounts...

You've got it all wrong....The lipos don't go on the crawler (sheesh, what a NOOB!), they belong under and in between the rocks!

Hey Gardetto,

two things, have you done anything to increase steering on these axles?? And second, have you noticed there is NO axle clocking on the front to allow for the pinion to be tilted up and pointing at the Tranny better?? I think I will look into both with a little fancy dremel work and clocking of the front hubs to get te pinion poitning up. It looks like the front hubs can rotated/clocked by redrilling the hubs..

Want me to start a new thread on these mods, or post them here in your thread??

Any word on the d-shafts??
