| upper and lower link material
I've always run delrin links, and was just wondering if there would be any benefit to having the crawler more rigid? Maybe aluminum or ti links instead?

It can help to have more rigid links sometimes when you get into a bind so they dont bend. I dont bother with aluminum links anymore for lowers ( too Sticky) I run Stainless lowers and love them. they are extremely strong and slide on the rocks just about as well as derlin links do. the only con to them is that they are heavy , but its not going to matter much for lower links just make your uppers out of aluminum or derlin . |

My lowers are 1/4" aluminum sleeved with 3/8" nylatron. Its just a slick plastic that we had at the shop. I think I have the best of both worlds. Rigid and slick. They are relatively light weight too.

Stainless all around for me. I live in an oil town and there is lots of access to 1/4" stainless. Itap them out to 4mm and good to go. Quick and painless. They are almost as slick as the delrin links and waaaaay easier to find the material for. (at least here it is). |
