ok now the secret behind it all. one spring pushing the axles apart, also acting as one mono shock.

Take it on the rocks and see how it works.

the links are perfectly square and with the spring pushing the axles apart it keeps it verticle. i might put some shocks from the chassis to the axles but not sure yet.

Why bother with the weight of the chassis. Basically you have what is similar to a stick chassis.

Shed teh chassis, and bolt on a piece of metal in the center of the rod, attach your links to that. Help your COG.

Are you using a spring to push the axle to the wheelbase you want and then using the suspension links to keep it there, instead of using nuts on the back side of the axle housing?

I have built 3 nylints using a similar suspension, but just used nuts on both sides of the axle mounts to set the wheelbase. And depending on the type of terrain being run I can adjust it with a couple turns.

Your design is one that I have not seen, but with the links and springs it almost seems like you overthought the design if you are only trying to locate the wheelbase with the spring, unless it is providing you with another benefit that I can not see.

But as far as being the first with a rod for the suspension, its been done. But its always nice to see thinking outside of the box...

That's still a killer looking rig. (except for the pcb in the seat. )

Jason, its even worse now with two PCB's in the seat trying to do those front digs with stock electronics. Thanks for the comment though.

And Tank, what do you mean by "acting as a mono shock"? Is the spring putting any forces on the suspension while it articulates? Does the rig act differently when you lift the rear passenger tire compared to the rear driver from the force of the spring being twisted? Sorry for a lot of questions, I am just wondering if its going to work well once you get power to the axles.
