mine is a 9 1/2" . i cut the 2 stock links on front and back (added 3/4" to them with alum... tube) then made a mount so i could flip the rearend up 90ders.... here is a link http://groups.msn.com/BaddsTraxxasRE...ddsnylint.msnwi working on another 1 but i am tring to find a diff... body . so wheelbase is not known right now . but i will flip the rear as it helps alot . with the mount i made it inboards the rear shocks about 1/2" (1/4 each side ) that helps with flex.

Best mod is a hard one. i like the 2.2s, they really rock, but they work sooo much better with the extra planetary. So, i guess the best 'stand-alone' mod was the tummy tuck.
I recommend pushing each axle away about a 1/2". it really helps with the approach/departure angles. Atleast it did when i still ran my Scoprion body.

Quick and easy is extending the single links about a 1/2". It will also keep the joints from hitting the axle while flexing. I just used a longer screw and added a spacer.

For the rear I used a really long skinny bolt and ran that through the back side of the blue cross piece between the two links. I cut away alittle of the cross piece so that the bolt head would sit inside it without clearence problems. Then I cut the wires to the axle and spliced in to make them longer...go from red-white and white-red this time. Then I flipped the rear axle and put the shocks on the back side of the axle mounts. between the crosspiece and the axle I used a cut piece of BIC pen to act as a spacer. I wrapped it with electrical tape to make it a little thicker and its black now...yay. I used to nuts to double nut the bolt behind the axle so that they don't come loose. I gained probably half an inch this way and got rid of any clearence problems.
For the front I used a tiny piece of cuy highlighter lid I believe or maybe it was the highlighter body, anywho, and used that for a spacer. It is probably half an inch and I was able to just use the stock screw up front, so a realllly easy mod there. The front really helped with clearence even though there is still a little bit of contact.
Hope that helps
