Not all of them. Once you get the roof rack on, it'd make a great mounting point for an awning used on the pop up campers. It stows away (legs and all) in a canvas bag attached to the side of the rig.

Those are just the ones that when setup just amount to basically a tarp on the the side of the van and some poles that are held up by strings and stakes right?

I was thinking one of these self supporting ones that don't need to have ropes.

Some of the really cheap (or old) pop up awnings used strings and poles, though there are some new ones that use hardware similar to the awning you showed, only it folds up into the bag with the canvas. If you want to spend some extra $, you can get one that folds and rolls up into an aluminum case.

You might still be able to use a regular rv awning. Since that roof rack is going from one end to the other, it'd probably hold one as long as there are solid points to mount the feet.

Because then all day sitting at the event it would look like shit.

Talk about white trash!

That is about the longest you can run the cables, they just loose signal after that. We should be able to park fairly close to the action.

We may eventually put in a pass through, but for now they'll just run out of one of the doors.

Yea Neal did a great job designing the wrap, I cannot wait to see it done live and in person.
i think the ad said that it had the items included to mount the air and drain , it might even be big enough if you put an awning on the side with plastic sides it would probably keep it cool as well

I think there's even an Astro van body available. Get me the tiny wraps and I'll do one for ya

Awning would be a good idea, it'd give you a place to hang out in the shade without going inside the van.

For lower awning mounts you could use slip in receivers (1-1 1/2" or so) like the oilfield guys use to haul pipe on the sides of their trucks. Put one under each bumper. Use it at the event, pull a couple of pins and they disappear when the event is over. That way you're not mounting to the bumper.

Be warned! The box awnings are pricey.

The bagged versions are considerably cheaper.

Have you looked at trailer manufacturers for a roof mounted AC system? Back in the day, we would tow a 18' toy-box trailer out to the sand dunes in SoCal to ride the desert toys, once we got the toys out, we set up camp inside of the trailer. The roof mounted AC unit would make the trailer so cold we had to open the doors to let some desert heat IN to the trailer!

99% of RVs use the same type of rooftop a/c systems.

I haven't found a super small dual hose version yet.
